Barcelona have crashed out of the UEFA Champions League after losing 3-0 to Roma in the second leg of the quarter final. Barcelona went to the Stadio Olympico with a 4-1 advantage from the first leg, but to many surprise, Roma provided one of the comeback of the decade in Champions League football.
Dzeko opened the scoring for Roma in the 6th minute and De Rossi converted from the spot early in the second half before Manolas completed the comeback for the Italians. No one would have thought Barcelona would be out of the competition this soon, not in this fashion. Roma will be playing in the semi final for the first time since 1983/84 season.
Elsewhere, Liverpool ensured Man City provide no shock comeback as the Merseysider showed superiority by beating the Blues at Etihad. Liverpool beat Man City 2-1 after going one goal down by half time. Gabriel Jesus had raised the hope of the host after scoring early in the first half and they could have been 2 goal up only for a second goal by Sane to be ruled out for offside. Salah and Firmino both scored in the second half to hand Liverpool a Semi Final spot in Champions League
