Messi was once again at the heart of things for Barcelona as he produced one of his finest performances this season to put Tottenham to blade in a Champions league group stage game.
Barcelona beat Tottenham 2-4 at Wembley as Messi scored two goals and was involved in others. Barcelona recently had some setbacks in La Liga having failed to win any of their last two games but hopefully, this performance against Tottenham can kick-start an amazing season for the Catalan giants. Aside the goals and his contributions to others, Messi’s overall performance reminded a lot of football fans and pundits that there is still much left in the Argentine Wizard.
Messi was left out of the recent FIFA World Best Player final shortlist, an accolade claimed by Real Madrid’s midfielder, due to his performance at the World Cup which took Croatia to the second place. Despite Barcelona’s slow start to the season, Messi has been impressive since the start of the season and may once again find his way back into the Best Player shortlist.
