Super Sub Giroud to the Rescue for Chelsea against Southampton
Chelsea came from two goal down to beat Southampton 3-2 at St Mary’s park in an English Premier League game on Saturday afternoon, thanks to a double from super sub Giroud. Both teams have been out of form recently with Southampton battling to move out of the relegation zone.
Tadic and Bednarek put the host in front and with 30 minutes left before full time, Conte decided to pull out Morata for Giroud who later turned out to be the hero.
Not totally out of contention for Champions League football next season, Chelsea are seven points behind third and fourth place Liverpool and Tottenham respectively, although, the later has played one game lesser.
Giroud inspired and completed the comeback with Eden Hazard also getting on the scoresheet for Chelsea. Chelsea manager, Conte is already under fire and has faced heavy criticism from the fans. Although he is confident he would help Chelsea bounce back if he is given the chance. This victory may turn things around for the remainder of the season
