Super Eagles failed an early test in their warm up friendly match against England losing 2-1. Harry Kane was on target as he continued his scoring streak with England captain also finding the back of the net to beat Nigeria in their final Wembley outing before the World Cup.
Gary Cahill’s header in the 7th minute of the first half to put the host in front and Kane doubled the advantage before the break netting for the sixth time in five appearances
But what might have turned into a walk in the park against a side ranked 47th in the world became a tense 2-1 victory as Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi struck less than two minutes into the second half, robbing the hosts of their composure.
Super Eagles are grouped alongside Croatia, Argentina and Iceland and a match against England proves to be a good test ahead of the competition.
