Football great, Brazilian Pele could not hide his frustration hearing Lionel Messi being referred to as the sport’s greatest, branding him an “Incomplete Player”.
He was quoted as saying in an interview when asked if Messi is the greatest footballer of all time:
“Messi, the best ever? How can you make a comparison between a guy (me) who heads the ball well, shoots with the left, shoots with the right, and another Messi) who only shoots with one leg, only has one skill, doesn’t head the ball well?”
This statement has triggered some reactions from football fans across the globe. Many could not hide their disappointment at Pele’s words as they referred to him as being envious of the player. Below are some of the Twitter reactions:

Read this quote yesterday and I wasn’t sure how to feel, nor do I today. All I know is that it sucks seeing legends of the game like Pele and Maradona doing everything, including diminishing their credibility, to still be considered the best ever. Leo’s just better, I’m sorry. https://t.co/VvrHBdU9Yv

Pele is the greatest fraud in footballing history (right alongside Mourinho). Have said it time and time again. Guy never put a foot outside of Brazil and has the audacity to pick on Leo, who gave up his home at the age of 13. Imagine being as insecure as him & Maradona.
