Man United might have saved Mourinho’s job as they pull a stunning comeback to beat Newcastle 3-2 at Old Trafford in a Premier League match on Saturday. Man United had everything to fight for as they are on mission to save their manager’s job and also save face before their fans following series of disappointing display in recent games.

Mourinho was reported to be on the verge of an imminent sack of which today’s match against Newcastle might have made no difference as earlier reported. But the United hierarchy might have found a feel to have a change of mind especially after the means by which Man United came out victorious today.

United were in for an early shock after trailing 2-0 in the space of opening ten minutes of the first half. As expected, the team had started woefully, conceding two goals following a poor defence which the manager was quick to spot after making a quick substitution in the 16th minute. Mourinho took the risk of taking off Bailly (a defender) for Mata not long after conceding the second goal. But was still guilty of pushing an inexperienced McTominay to the central defence when Lindelof was on the bench. The young lad was later subbed off for Fellaini

Mata started United comeback after converting a free-kick from the edge of the box in the 70th minute. Moments later, Pogba and Martial combined well before the latter squeezed the ball past the Newcastle goalkeeper to level the scores. Sanchez completed the comeback with three minutes left on the regulation time to hand Man United a deserved win in Premier League
