The Lagos State Government will be restricting movement in 18 major roads across the State when President Muhammadu Buhari‘s campaign rolls into town on Saturday for his presidential rally.
According to The Cable, Buhari’s campaign will hold at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere but the major roads leading to the venue would be closed off due to the heavy flow of traffic expected on the day.
Demola Saraki, Chairman of the Transport Committee for Buhari’s campaign had this to say at a press conference;
For instance, Alaka (by Lanre Shittu Motors) on the service lane, inwards stadium will be closed to traffic, while vehicles will be diverted to the stadium bridge on the main carriageway.
Shitta, inwards stadium, will be closed to traffic and vehicles diverted to Adeniran Ogunsanya street or Akerele extension. Traffic from Barracks to Stadium on Funsho Williams Avenue will be diverted to stadium bridge on the main carriageway to Alaka.
The major roads to be closed on Saturday include;

- Lawanson/Itire /Tejuosho road
- Apapa/Costain road
- Abebe village
- Eric Moore road
- Eko Bridge/Apongbon
- Marina road
- Ikorodu road
- Mobolaji Bank Anthony way
- Old Toll Gate/Third Mainland Bridge/Obalende
- Airport road
- Oshodi-Oworonshoki expressway
- Agege Motor road
- Jibowu area
- Yaba/Muritala Mohammed way Iddo/Otto
- Herbert Macaulay way
- Ijora Olopa
Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Commander for Lagos State, Hyginus Omeje assured that truck drivers would be barred from entering the metropolis on Saturday.
