Liverpool lost for the first time this season after bowing to Man City in 2-1 defeat at the Etihad on Thursday evening, courtesy of goals from Sergio Aguero and Sane. The Kops have until yesterday registered no loss in this season’s campaign and the loss to City means the gap has been reduced to just four points between the two teams.
For about two decades, teams that had led the table going into January had won the league except in two occasions when Liverpool had failed to capitalize on the advantage. With four point gap left between them and Man City, no one can authoritatively give Liverpool the title as it means they must not slip in two games that Man City win.
The last time Liverpool won the championship was as far back as 1990 and went close in 2014 when the popular Gerrard slip against Chelsea occurred, paving the way for Man City to win the league that year.
Liverpool have had a good season so far and in order to make it remarkable, they need to push harder for the title, never allow it to slip off them this time around.
