The English Premier League is getting to its critical stage as we approach the new year and it has started to caught up with some of the big boys in the league. Man United who replaced sacked Mourinho with former player, Solskjaer got up to a dream start as they beat Cardiff 1-5, making it the the first time they scored five in they league since Sir Alex left in 2013.
Both Man City and Chelsea suffered home league defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace and Leicester City respectively, handing Liverpool free run into the festive period which is characterised by busy fixture schedules. Arsenal on the other hand beat Wolves 3-1 at the Emirates with Aubamayang scoring two to surpass Salah in the scoring chart. Super Eagles, Alex Iwobi also got on the scoring sheet after coming on for Lacazette late in the game.
Both Crystal Palace and Leicester might have enjoyed popular wins over Man City and Chelsea but the pick of the week is definitely Man United’s first big win in five years where it was clearly a different style of games under Mourinho. The players showed zeal and there was fluidity in attack suggesting they might have been limited while playing under Mourinho
