EPL! Liverpool Looks to Regain Top Spot as they Face Man United

Old rivals, Liverpool and Manchester United will face off at Anfield in an English Premier League encounter, a game which the Kops men will look to win to regain top spot from Man City who beat Everton Yesterday.

Man United go into the match as the underdog having trailed the leaders of the league with 24 points adrift. Man United have had poor run under Mourinho this season but they are determined to stop a firing Liverpool from beating them at Anfield later this evening.

Fresh from securing qualification to the knockout stages of the Champions League, high-flyers Liverpool welcome old-enemy Manchester United to Anfield, looking to improve on their record of just one win in the previous ten competitive H2Hs (W1, D4, L5).

The ‘Reds’ have been in formidable form this season and are the only undefeated side left in the Premier League (W13, D3). They boast a near perfect home record, having won six of their seven home league games (W6, D1). More impressively, they have successfully ‘shut out’ the opposition in six of those seven matches, conceding just one goal.

Rivals Manchester United travel to Liverpool in contrasting form, sitting in sixth place following just one win in their previous five matches (W1, D3, L1). Whilst their form this season has been patchy, there’s not been a shortage of entertainment watching the ‘Red Devils’.

Despite United’s dominant record of late, both teams have been evenly matched in recent H2H encounters, with four of the last six games ending in a draw (W1, D4, L1). Additionally five of those previous six encounters featured under 2.5 match goals.

Players to watch: Talisman Mohamed Salah scored the vital winner against Napoli at Anfield on Wednesday to make it four goals in his last two appearances for Liverpool.

Marcus Rashford’s quick-fire double sank Liverpool in a 2-1 victory back in March, and the United man has two goals in his last two appearances.

Stat attack: Liverpool have scored the opening goal in 13 of their 16 PL matches.
Liverpool have conceded the fewest PL goals this season (six).
United have scored in each of their eight of PL away games this season.
