Tottenham beat Newcastle 2-1 at St James Park courtesy of goals from Vertoghen and Dele Alli while Chelsea had a flying start under new coach Sarri as they beat Huddersfield 3-0 at Kirklees Stadium, Huddersfield. It was a quickfire goals between Tottenham and Newcastle as all three goals were scored in the first half. Vertoghen got Tottenham to a flying start, scoring the first goal in the 8th minute. Joselu equalized three minutes later but Dele Alli did well to seal the win for Tottenham seven minutes later.
World Cup winner, Kante was on target for Chelsea today as he opened the goal scoring floor half an hour into the first half. He converted via a half volley from a cross from Willian. New signing Jorginho converted sfrom the spot to take them two goals up before half time. Pedro came off the bench to seal the victory for Chelsea to go top of the table.
