The Governor of Ekiti state Ayodele Fayose speaking on Saturday, reacted to the statement of the former president about him been prosecuted by the present government. The Governor said Obasanjo should submit himself for investigations by the Muhammadu Buhari Administration, instead of acting as if he was being persecuted by the federal government.
Governor Fayose said the former president should take his current travails in his strides and should not make his current predicament a Yoruba issue.
Fayose stated further, that the former president gave everyone an impression that he is a brave man, who is not afraid of anything. “A retired general who has seen a lot and should not be raising alarms now”.
He said it was this same Obasanjo that said the present President is the best for Nigeria while promoting him in 2015 general elections. The governor also mentioned that in Obasanjo’s book “under my watch” He said he prefers to be jailed by Buhari rather than Former President Goodluck Jonathan being re-elected into office. Now prison is beckoning on him and he wants to dodge the government he said sarcastically.
The governor stated further that the EFCC and ICPC were established by the former President, and he also used it to hound and lock up so many people, including state governors, why is he now afraid of being probed? let Nigerians know how he made his money, he said.
Nigerians can remember Obasanjo’s financial level before he became a president, and what he left with, therefore if Buhari is telling the whole world that Obasanjo stole money, it is incumbent on Obasanjo to prove his innocence. The governor also said.
Governor Fayose also debunked the fact that Obasanjo is the leader of the Yoruba people. And also mentioned that he didn’t know Obasanjo could cry like a woman, it’s amazing that he is behaving this way, he said.
Governor Fayose might not be a good fan of Obasanjo because in 2006 he was impeached for alleged corruption which he believed was orchestrated by the Obasanjo Government.
The Probe is about to start, let us see what happens, Obasanjo versus EFCC
