Undoubtedly the best player at Chelsea and arguably one of the best in the world as his fans always claim, Eden Hazard is having one of his best individual season with his current club. Goal scoring has been one of the major criteria for awarding Balon d’or since Cristiano Ronaldo’s success campaign with Manchester United in 2008. Already won the PFA Player of the Year award and two league titles with Chelsea, but have not really had a fantastic goal scoring season.

His double against Westbrom on Monday night took his tally to 11 league goals in 23 appearances this season, just five short of his best (16) which was attained last season. At this ratio, he is scoring a goal every two matches, and with 11 matches left, he could still get a minimum of 6 goals more which means he is likely to surpass his past goal scoring record in the league. Chelsea are having a torrid season and would need the support of his team to make him attain the greater height.
