Some group of unidentified political thugs has warned the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Dino Melaye not to enter Kogi State, else they will attack him.
The senator is supposed to inaugurate some projects in seven local government councils starting from Friday.
This threat was made known by an unsigned letter by some political thugs who distributed it on Tuesday at the naming ceremony of the Lokoja administrator, Hon. Shiru Lawal.
The pamphlet read thus: “Dino don’t patronize Kogi State.
“Stay away else you have yourself to blame. Save yourself and remain where you are. Keep off from our land.
“Dino come and reap what you sowed. You don’t respect our leaders so we don’t respect you. Respect is reciprocal!
“Take what you get, and if you dare us, expect the worse, we have warned you.”
Speaking on this, Senator Dino Melaye said he has written formally to the police and other security agents for the inauguration of the projects, he said “meaningful projects across all the seven local government councils”.
He also mentioned that nobody can prevent him from visiting his state.
Also speaking on this, the Public Relation Officer of the Kogi State Police Command, Mr. William Ayah said the command of the senator’s coming but they are not aware of any pamphlets distributed by an unknown person or people.
He mentioned that nobody reported the threat to them and stressed that as soon as there is any information on the threat they will take action.
