The transfer saga between Man United and Real Madrid over the signing of Morata continues to drag on. Having rejected two bids earlier on, Real Madrid are holding out for a fee around £80m which is way to high compared to £60m Man United’s last offer.
It is now being reported that Chelsea have sanctioned a late move for the 24 year old Spanish striker who just wedded on Friday. Chelsea are quoted to be willing to submit a bid around £70m in order to gazump Man United to the signing of Morata.
Conte is a long admirer of the striker and have been chasing him even before Man United shown interest. It was gathered that the players relationship with Mourinho right from Real Madrid was key to him agreeing a deal with Man United. It looks like Chelsea have now fully joined the race to sign the striker. Although, Chelsea’s main target remain Lukaku and Everton’s £100m valuation of their former player have made them resort to a fallback which is Morata.
This new development may prompt Man United to up their bid and close the deal in time as they are aware of a genuine interest from Conte who is a long time admirer.
