Currently, the rave of the moment, Amoshine took over social media several weeks back when he started the I deserve some accolades movement. The video which he shot with his hilarious hypeman quickly went viral and got public attention.
Soon after, social media influencers and celebrities began to join on his challenge and the average Nigerian active internet user or youth, began to use the slang “I deserve some accolades!”
As a follow up to his newly gathered fame, he yesterday released the visuals to his single “Accolades”. The 3 minutes 19 seconds video is directed by Capital Dream’s founder Clarence Peters.
The video is set in the night in a boxing ring with the lead character being played by Amoshine. He is surrounded by girls dancing and his hypeman continues to hype him all around the video.
One thing that strikes me about this video is the fact that it is so dark yet so beautiful to watch. The set design, the lightning costume, and colour grading were done with a lot of thought. The camera work added to the surreal experience.
The scene where he was in the bathtub was brilliantly done. The gold chains splattered all across. The women beside him in gold attires. That scene literarily eulogized the whole idea of “I deserve all the accolades”
The structure and arrangement of the video was done so brilliantly that you just might miss that it really had no story. For the Accolades video, this can be excused as the actual song doesn’t necessarily need a storyline. The camera movements at some point became confusing and the fact that it is so dark can affect you after several rewatches.
Above all, it is a great video and we give an 80% rating. Watch the video below and share your thoughts. Do you agree or disagree? Let us know.
