Governor Samuel Ortom said in a statement on Tuesday that the Bank Of Industry (BOI) in conjunction with Benue State Government has begun disbursement of N2 billion loan to one hundred and thirty-eight.
This information was given by the governor represented by Mr Tersoo Kpelai, Commissioner for industry Trade and investment at a workshop for members of cooperative societies in Markudi, he also said an additional N358 million had been approved for 78 more cooperative societies.
Mr Tersoo Kpelai explained that the workshop was meant to educated people on entrepreneurship in general. And also mentioned that around 78 people already have access to the loan by the BOI.
The commissioner urged the People of Benue to join these cooperative societies to apply for the loans and get it to make their life better.
The Manager of BOI Mr Frank Kings said only qualified candidates would benefit from the loan. He called on registered cooperative societies to obtain cheque list and submit applications at the ministry of industry, trade and investment to ease the processes.
